Is special.

Every child trying to run with the wind,

Is special.

And every bride who walks down the Aisle

Is special.

Yet, in everyday life

In every move and breath

Special is lost

And we feel like the rest.

And if I breathe

I know you’ll steal it away

If I grasp your hand

Will it slip through the cracks

If I talk what will you say?

This poem has been unwritten in my drafts for a while so I decided to make it a short one and send it out into the world

They spiral and sear through dreams

Whilst excited children stare in awe at the sky

And boys in shorts with newly scraped knees

Set paper ships off to sail in your eyes

With prayer they’ll carry wishes in the breeze

Like an elderly couple with love in every wrinkled smile know

To lie in your arm’s and cuddle you close

Means that everyday that passes our love will always grow

If words could hold the soaring of my heart

Every time you answer my whispered proclamation

That to me each time feels like the first time I say it

And the very first time that I hear your reply

It still shocks me to hear it

That it causes my chest to bloom like a flower

Which under your love grows to a beanstalk

And reaches to the sky

Where the angels can sit

And they revel in the light of you

Then I’d write you forever

An encyclopedia of us

Where each word is a memory

Each syllable our love

So they can bury me in poets corner

And put with the rest

But always knowing

That it is the light in you that brings out my best

The biggest frustration of any writer is love

The hardest pursuit is to explain/describe it in writing

And find I open my arms

My heart is now in view

And it is yours to claim

Treat it as you will

I cannot care at all

Just being near you the thrill

It its yours

Just hold it in your hands

cradle it close

Please give it no commands

So I can succumb to this feeling

With no regret

or pain

Because no matter if you pose a threat

It cannot take away this gain

We’re only at the beginning

Whether we will succeed I do not know

But I know that I am yours for eternity

I just hope that this will grow

I can still feel the warmth of your touch

If I listen closely your accent fills my head

If i smile hard enough your laugh lights up my day

My eyes are burning

My throats closing up

I’ve found someone so amazing

And I know I’m not enough

There is some one out there who’ll hold you closer at night

Someone out there who wont draw blood with every bite

I want so much to make it work with you

To have it turn out right

But I don’t know how to measure up

To someone not yet in sight

Sorry about how few blog updates I’ve done recently. The first rule of blogging is to not let your readers get bored and I feel that by neglecting to write I have done this.

As many of you (being writers yourselves) will know often it is hard to write without allowing too much of yourself into the work or giving it too little.  This is where my problem has been recently. So my apologies and I hope you all accept my new poem as an appeasement.
